Wendy Burch

My name is Wendy Burch. I’m an adopted child, born and raised in Salt Lake City. Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be two things in life. I wanted to be TV reporter and I wanted to be a mom. Believe it or not becoming the television report was the easy part. I graduated from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. With nearly two decades of reporting experience, I have delivered thousands of reports, but some how I neglected to let my personal story unfold. Along the way, my biological clock just kept ticking and right around my 40th birthday the alarm sounded. So I made a plan, a baby plan. I tired it all … in vitro, injections, fertility drugs, acupuncture, herbal tea, yoga. At the age of 45, I decided my best option to start my family was to consider using a donor frozen egg. My best route for pregnancy was a donor. I found my perfect donor match to help me start my family. At the time, she was 22-year-old, college student, studying journalism. Two weeks later the eggs arrived to the clinic and we fertilized them with my fiance’s sperm. Five days later one perfect embryo was transferred inside of me. Two weeks after that a blood test confirm I was pregnant. In January 2015, I gave birth to my son Brady.
