Dr. William Schoolcraft


Dr. William Schoolcraft is the founder and medical director of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine, the oldest fertility clinic in Colorado and one of the most renowned clinics in the nation. In the last 25 years, Dr. Schoolcraft and his colleagues have helped families conceive more than 15,000 in vitro fertilization (IVF) babies. CCRM has pioneered significant research breakthroughs in IVF including in vitro culture of human embryos to the blastocyst stage, novel protocols for the treatment of poor responders, and blastocyst comprehensive chromosome screening.

Dr. Schoolcraft completed his medical training at the University of Kansas and finished his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1983 at UCLA. After his fellowship at UCLA under the direction of Dr. David Meldrum, one of the pioneers in the field of IVF, Dr. Schoolcraft established CCRM. Within its first five years of operation, CCRM and Dr. Schoolcraft had begun to develop a national reputation for excellence in both pregnancy and delivery rates.

Considered a leading authority on fertility, Dr. Schoolcraft has been interviewed by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Denver Post, Men’s Health, Today.com, and has appeared as a fertility expert on numerous television programs, including Good Morning America, The Doctors and multiple Colorado news programs. Dr. Schoolcraft is also the author of the book “If At First You Don’t Conceive: A Complete Guide to Infertility from One of the Nation’s Leading Clinics.”

Dr. Schoolcraft has authored countless international peer-reviewed scientific articles, which have documented the Center’s high success rates including novel methods to stimulate multiple follicular growth, blastocyst comprehensive chromosomal screening, single blastocyst transfers, novel protocols for the treatment of poor responders and vitrification methods for oocyte and embryo cryopreservation.

For 21 years in a row, 5280 Magazine has named Dr. Schoolcraft a “Top Doctor” in the state of Colorado. Dr. Schoolcraft is also one of a handful of physicians that is Board Certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis as a high complexity clinical laboratory director.
